I had a sudden chocolate craving an hour ago but I did not want to settle with a chocolate bar from the fridge. I don't think that will satisfy me this time.I remembered coming across a recipe online for quickie pudding and I googled "quick chocolate pudding" and I found what I was looking for on Allrecipes
It really was simple recipe with only 5 min prep time and 10 min cooking time. I looked through the reviews and followed the tips to add a pinch of salt and 1tablespoon of butter. Can't go wrong with butter!
I took a little over 30 mins because I spent an extra time whisking the mixture. I didn't want it to get all lumpy cos that was what happened the last time I made pudding. It turned out great and it's so simple to make! Do try it if you have a sudden chocolate craving. The ingredients are pretty basic, so chances are, you might find them in your kitchen :)
Hasty Chocolate Pudding BY DBON
Ingredients
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 cups milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- In a microwave-safe bowl, whisk together the sugar, cocoa and cornstarch. Whisk in milk a little at a time so the mixture does not have any dry lumps.
-
Place in the microwave, and cook for 3 minutes on high. Stir, then cook
at 1 minute intervals, stirring between cooking times for 2 to 4
minutes, or until shiny and thick. Stir in vanilla. (I added a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of butter)
- Place a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the pudding to prevent a skin from forming, and chill in the refrigerator. Serve cold.
Tomorrow I shall bake Warm Chocolate Flourless Cake.I fell in love with the flourless chocolate cake at K.ki and I shall attempt to make one myself, with home made chilled chantily cream on the side :)
